Margaret River Fine Vines Festival’s full program now ripe for the picking
The depth and quality of Margaret River wine will again be on display this spring at Fine Vines Festival, with the full program going live this morning.
Fine Vines is an immersive celebration of the region’s world-class wine with 34 events throughout the Margaret River wine region from 20-29 October 2023. The festival encourages guests to deepen their understanding of and connection to WA’s top wine-producing region.
Now in its third year, the festival has garnered a loyal audience of locals and visitors alike, flocking to the region for the 10-day festival. The 2023 program welcomes a host of new and exciting events plus the return of Fine Vines classics.
Debuting at this year’s festival is Liquid Gold, taking place at the beautifully refurbished Edwards Cellar Door. Hosted by internationally respected wine critic Angus Hughson, Liquid Gold provides guests the opportunity to explore and taste the top 40 gold medal-winning wines from the 2023 Margaret River Wine Show. Producers and winemakers will present and pour their award-winning wines, representing the best in class from the 2023 show.
The program also includes a number of exciting collaborations from regional favourites. Chow’s Table will host House of Cards, Windance, Cullens and McHenry Hohnen who will be joined by Brendan Pratt (Coffee Heads), Ben Jacob (Lagoon), Mal Chow (Chow’s Table), and Ben Day (Cullens) for an organic food and wine pairing.
Also teaming up to present unmissable collaborations are Woodlands Wines with Tiller Dining, Domaine Naturaliste with Meelup Farmhouse, and South by South West Wine with Perth Chef Chase Weber.
Returning to the program is Fine Vines’ self-guided wine tour; the Busselton Wine Hop. The event invites guests to meander through Busselton’s town centre sampling a selection of the region’s small-scale wine producers at local venues like Shelter Brewing Co., The Fire Station, Rocky Ridge and a pop up wine garden at the ArtGeo Complex.
For one weekend only guests are invited behind the farm gate to meet the winemakers that aren’t usually open to the public, with Margaret River Open Vineyards. Participating wineries include Trait Wines, Frazer Woods, Cloudburst, Vallee Du Venom and Burnside Organic Farm.
Previous years’ festival favourites Chameleon at Vasse Felix, Wine on the Water with Clairault Streicker, Vintage Matters at Fraser Gallop, and Mozzarella in the Cellar at Juniper Estate will also be returning.
Fine Vines Festival is proudly supported by Margaret River Wine Association, City of Busselton, Tourism WA, Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, Augusta Margaret River Shire, South West Development Commission, Leeuwin Coast, the WA Good Food Guide and Hire in Style.
Fine Vines Festival takes place on Wadandi Boodja. Festival management acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and play, and ask you to tread lightly and with respect when you’re enjoying Fine Vine’s events.
